UPDATE MARCH 12 @ 5:30 PM —- Due to concerns regarding the coronavirus, this event has been canceled.
“TITAS/DANCE UNBOUND announced today that Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater will not be performing in Dallas this weekend at the Winspear Opera House due to the current health concerns surrounding COVID-19 (coronavirus).”
When Alvin Ailey and a small group of African-American dancers took the stage on March 30, 1958, at New York City’s 92nd Street Y, the engagement was for one night only, but it turned out to be the start of a new era in the arts.
For over 60 years, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater has reigned as an American “cultural ambassador to the world”— having performed live for an estimated 25 million people in 48 states, 71 countries, and six continents. These gifted, gorgeous Ailey dancers infuse energy and emotion to classics and new works alike.
NDG readers have an opportunity to win free tickets to see these very talented performers next weekend. To enter the race, visit our Facebook page and tell us why you want to attend.
Don’t miss at least one of these three unforgettable performances! Friday, March 13, 8 PM and/or two shows Saturday, March 14: 2 PM and 8 PM.
